What Drives the Price (Beyond Quantity)

Quantity is the biggest lever on per-unit cost — but it's not the only one. Here's what else affects your final number:

• Number of imprint colors: Each additional screen print color adds a setup fee ($50–75) plus per-unit cost. For most items, 1–2 colors is the sweet spot for cost and aesthetics.
• Imprint method: Screen print is lowest cost. Embroidery adds $1.50–3.00 per piece. Laser engraving (on drinkware and metal items) is typically included in the base price.
• Rush production: Standard lead times apply to the prices above. Rush fees add 15–30% for production acceleration and unpredictable amounts for expedited shipping.
• Custom colors or special finishes: Powder coat color matching on drinkware, specialty inks (metallic, glow-in-dark), or premium blanks (name-brand vs. generic) move prices upward.

The Volume Tipping Points

Looking at the tables above, the biggest per-unit drops happen at three quantity thresholds: 100, 500, and 1,000 units. If your order is sitting at 85 units, it's almost always worth rounding up to 100 for the price break. The same logic applies at 450 → 500.
